Spotted

At lunchtime today I saw the kingfisher. It's one of those experiences you can't describe without resorting to some tired old cliche. A flash of electric blue above the babbling stream - that kind of thing.

There's nothing quite like your first kingfisher; that electric blue is brighter than anyone could describe it.

Canadian kingfishers, while large, are a dull grey colour. It's as if they're still in their primer coat, awaiting a shipment of special paint.
